  • What is Staging?

Staging is a relatively new concept of a basic principle of interior design in which a living space is maximized by taking advantage of light and architectural features by either changing the layout, color, or simply by reorganizing the furniture and decorations.

    Colors and Architecture

There are many books written on the subject and it goes by many names. One of the most popular is “Feng Shui” pronounced ‘fon shuei’. It stands for the ancient Chinese standard of aesthetics. I personally like to call it “Flow”.

    Staging for your own enjoyment:

"A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the soul as well as the body"
    Benjamin Franklin

I believe that there is nothing more comforting than to have a warm and beautiful home waiting to greet you at the end a long and stressful day. For people who own a vacation home, making their retreat a sanctuary where they can rest and relax in comfort and beauty is equally as important.

    Living spaces

    Staging for real estate purposes:

Over the years, I have learned that there are three basic principles for transforming homes into living spaces that appeal to a wider audience of prospective buyers or renters:

"Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder"

An individual’s taste and perception of beauty is influenced by a wide variety of factors, such as culture, climate, and spatial concept. Because we all have different tastes, before you show your home, it is essential to “depersonalize” it. In other words, remove all those items (photographs, keepsakes, memorabilia) that speak to your individual taste, so that potential buyers can begin to picture themselves there.

    Living spaces "Color Rules!"

I truly believe that there is nothing better to clean and brighten up an old and tired living space than a fresh coat of paint. Today, there are so many beautiful paint colors and finishes available at reasonable prices, that there is no reason to hesitate changing the colors of your home in order to enhance its beauty. Choosing colors that brighten your space and create a warm an inviting feeling will make a huge difference for you personally or if you want to sell or rent.

    "Less is More"

Let’s face it, after living in our homes for awhile, we all have accumulated our fair share of clutter. Organizing your space by cleaning up the clutter and leaving just enough furniture and decorations in the rooms to showcase its architectural details will definitely pay off when it comes time to show your home.
